PSRC suspended licenses of 6 companies, which provide voice services

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Public Service Regulatory Committee (PSRC) of Armenia suspended today the licenses of 6 companies, which provide voice services.

As the Head of PSRC Telecommunication Department Gevorg Gevorgyan stated at the session today, the effect of the license is suspended because of non-payment of state and license duties.

Representatives of companies stated at the session that voice service provision has become an “unprofitable business”, since large telecommunication operators, in particular, Beeline, “press the small ones”. PSRC member Samvel Arabajyan noted that large telecommunication operators have made larger investments to develop infrastructures and this allows them being more competitive. He urges small companies to follow the global practice of VoIP services and take the path of consolidation.
