Itel.am continues the #TechMonth series: at the end of each month, Armenian IT specialists will conclude the month, speaking about Armenian and international tech achievements, as well as gains of their own company.
We sum up technological November with Renderforest founder Narek Safaryan.
#TechNovember in Renderforest
November was a rich and cognitive month for our company. This month we represented Armenia at Web Summit in Lisbon. Participation in the summit had a rather strong effect on our popularity, and by the end of November we had about 3000 registrations daily. In general, the platform already has over 1 million presentations, created by about half a million users.
I should note that our company rejected all investment offers, received at Web Summit, and will continue to live on the profits gained from own sales.
Startups were especially interested in our platform at the summit, because they need videos the most to tell about their services. I can say that we gathered plenty of experience in Lisbon.
November was a month of developing new functional capacities for us. Currently we are working on improvement of Renderforest UX/UI design, making it more convenient and functional.
Competition grows now in every IT segment. Nevertheless, if you offer innovative solutions and find a unique way to sell your service, the company starts to grow so that both yours and the user’s business grow.
We don’t try to be like any website or editor. We develop our own solutions, offering the best options of video making.
#TechNovember in ArmeniaI’d like to remark on Armenian IT sector’s interest towards participation in Web Summit. We met people from several Armenian companies in Lisbon, like Volo, Develando. I hope that they acquired useful ties during Web Summit.
I also want to point out the
opening of Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center (ISTC) in Yerevan.
The centre offers startups a workplace and infrastructure, technical and business consultation, as well as the opportunity to establish new ties.
This month also Armenian startup CodeFights
announced the USD 10mln investment.
#TechNovember in the worldI have to talk about Web Summit again, as it was the biggest event of November, given that it had 51 000 participants. Other IT events of this month remained in the shadow cast by Web Summit.
We discussed lots of global issues at the summit, for instance, which occupations will disappear in the next 20 years (mostly due to development of IT), clean technologies, where BMW had a large contribution this year with its Z series, as well as future evolution of machine learning and artificial intelligence, innovative investments in startups, etc.
Another significant event of November was Donald Trump’s election as the US President, which
caused serious concerns in American IT community. Silicon Valley is indeed worried by Trump’s victory, because he is in a bad relationship with the IT community and has negative attitude to internet. There is a concern that the newly appointed President’s actions could put a brake on advance of Silicon Valley.
