Beeline digitizes phone network in Gandzak community and sums up landline network modernization

Beeline announced completion of landline network digitization in Gandzak community and summed up the results of landline network modernization over 2014.

At a media briefing in the community of Gandzak, Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin presented Beeline’s achievements in development of landline network and broadband internet.

In 2014, the phone network in 16 settlements of Armenia was digitized. Over 3500 ports for phone network were mounted and over 1000 new ports for broadband internet services were installed.

From September 1, 2014, all the incoming calls to other landline operators in Armenia as well as long distance calls within Beeline network and calls to landline numbers in NKR have been charged AMD5 per minute.

“In 2014, Beeline invested considerable amounts in wired infrastructure, started providing high-speed internet where it lacked and what is most important, lowered prices for long distance and international calls. We do it all to change our subscribers’ lives for the better neutralizing the distance among them. The landline network will still be the focus of our attention. Moreover, we are going to substantially increase investments and full-scale introduction of new communication technologies next year”, noted Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin.

The index of digitization in Armenia exceeds 87% and the overall length of cable infrastructures is more than 8500kilometers. On a day, Beeline landline subscribers in Armenia make over 2mln calls and broadband internet subscribers consume more than 200TB information.
