The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia and VivaCell-MTS signed a memorandum of understanding today, which aims to serve as a basis for cooperation between the two structures.
In the frame of cooperation VivaCell-MTS provided AMD 50 million to the ministry with the purpose of creating a server unit, the company informs.
A data storage server center complying with the international requirements for such units will be created on the territory of the Center for Management of Emergency Situations operating under the ministry, which is located in one of the most seismically safe buildings in Armenia. The center will be equipped with generators, cooling and other systems. The center will also host the National Observation Network of Disaster Risk Minimization. The plans include deployment of the backup servers of all Armenian ministries and agencies.
The project will be implemented together with the UN Development Program.
To familiarize with the achievements of the ministry within the last several years, VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and the RA Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan visited the Garni Observation Station, Lusakert Educational Center and Balahovit, where a Russian-Armenian Humanitarian Center is planned for construction.
