Andrey Ponomarev to head ArmenTel's landline business

Andrey Ponomarev will head ArmenTel's (Beeline trademark) landline business, the company reported.

The position is a new in the company and was established by the strategy within which ArmenTel's landline business is separated into a particular bloc for stable and gradual development of the infrastructure and introduction of commercial offers on the wired network market.

Andrey Ponomarev has been working in the communication sphere for over 15 years. He has long years of experience as a leader in major telecommunication companies as well as successful implementation of large and effective commercial and technical projects in the segments of landline and mobile network.

"This appointment is very important for me, as it allows me to use my experience and knowledge to develop and improve ArmenTel's landline business. I am sure the company's landline department team will manage to offer the Armenian telecommunication market both attractive commercial products and leading technological solutions", noted Andrey Ponomarev.

He started his career in the telecommunication sphere "Ural Mobile Networks" CJSC in 1997 where he began his path as a head of material and technical provision and was promoted to the commercial director.

In 2003- 2009, Ponomarev headed branches of "Golden Telecom" and "VimpelCom" companies in the Ural region and held the post of the Chairman of Board of "Telecommunications Agency" CJSC (city of Perm).

In 2009- 2012 inclusive, Andrey held the post of the General Manager of "Foratec Communications" (city of Yekaterinburg) which merged with "VimpelCom" and was integrated into the Yekaterinburg branch of "VimpelCom". Andrey Ponomarev had to conduct the process of integration as he was appointed the Director of the Yekaterinburg branch and effectively led both companies simultaneously.
