“Orange Armenia” became general sponsor of Armenian Open Championship of Computer Game Designing

Yerevan, Mediamax: “Orange Armenia” became the general sponsor of the first Armenian Open Championship of Computer Game Designing.

Mediamax reports that Company CEO Bruno Duthoit and the Director of the Championship organizing company, Union of IT Enterprises (UITE) of Armenia Karen Vardanyan said this in Yerevan today.

Bruno Duthoit noted that Armenia should have its contribution to dynamic development of computer games’ sphere in the world and the championship “will allow revealing talents”.

First Armenian Open Championship of Computer Game Designing was launched in April, when the concepts of the games were presented to the consideration of the jury.

On May 14, the applicants will present the designs of the games to the jury, on June 4 they will present the technical capacities and on June 18 presentation of the ready games will take place, as a result of which the best game, as well as the winners of the Championship’s 6 other nominations will be chosen the same day. During all intermediate stages, the participants will be given points by the jury.

At the moment, 23 teams are participating in the Championship. New participants can get registered before the 3rd stage of the Championship including, however they will lose the points for the stages prior to presentation of the participation application.

The Championship has no age limit. Interested people can participate with a previously formed team or as individuals. There are no prerequisites or limitations for designs of games. The participant can design games, meant for internet, computer or cell phones, as well as can choose the most convenient programming language for designing the games.

The prize fund of the Championship will make AMD 1.3mln, 300 thousands of which will be given to the author of the best game, and the remaining sum will be distributed among the winners of the following nominations: best scenario, character, design, animation, innovation and best game for cell phones and other mobile devices.

Marketing Director of “Orange Armenia” Aram Mkrtchyan informed that on the awarding ceremony day on June 18, exhibition will be held during the entire day on the lower floor of “Orange” store on North Avenue. The games, designed by the participants of the Championship, will be exhibited.
