Yerevan/Mediamax/. By the end of the year, Institute of Information Technologies (IIT) of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan will put into operation “cloud computing” technology, IIT representative Rashid Alekperov told Trend.
According to him, the technologies of “cloud computing” will initially be available for employees of 35 scientific-research institutes of the Academy of Sciences, and in future – to all scientific and higher educational institutions of the republic.
“In order to realize the project we carry out negotiations with IBM and HP, to which we have presented our technological requirements. According to our estimations, at the initial stage, the productivity of the DATA-center, which is being established by us, will make 1.5 TFLOPS, the core memory volume will make 700 gigabyte, and the one of the external array – approximately 20 terabyte”, Alekperov stated.
The provision of the remote dynamic access to “cloud computing” services to final users will be realized through the scientific computer network AzScienceNet, the speed of data transfer of which exceeds 100Mb/sec.
