“VivaCell-MTS” 3G internet traffic consumption grew 23,8 times

Yerevan/Mediamax/. The consumption of internet traffic in the 3G network of “VivaCell-MTS” in 2010 grew 23,8 times, MTS OJSC Network Development Report for 2010 reads, Mediamax reports.

According to the report, in 2010 3G network in Armenia was launched in all settlements with a population of 2000 people, which makes 91% of populated territory.

“The number of base stations in 2010 grew almost 2,2 times. All 3G networks support up to 7,2 Mbps (HSDPA) speed; HSPA + technology has been launched in the fourth quarter of 2010 in Yerevan, providing data rates up to 21.6 Mbps. The share of 3G-traffic at the end of 2010 made about 92%. The internet traffic consumption for 2010 increased 6,5 times as compared to 2009,  in the 3G network - 23.8 times,” the report reads.
