“ArmenTel” to participate in WB tender on building a high speed internet network in Armenia

Yerevan /Mediamax/. “ArmenTel” Company (Beeline trademark) intends to participate in the tender on building a high speed internet network in Armenia within the framework of the World Bank program. 

Mediamax reports that General Director of “ArmenTel” CJSC Igor Klimko said this at a news conference in Yerevan today. According to him, at that he has not yet received any notification on the tender. 

Igor Klimko believes that realization of such a project without participation of “ArmenTel” Backbone Company is impossible. According to his assessments, about USD 500mln is necessary to build such a network in the entire territory of Armenia. 

Let’s note that the matter concerns building a high speed internet network (speed making 100MB/sec), which is planned to be secured at the expense of WB loan at the volume of USD 24mln.
