5th All-Armenian E-Content Contest launches

Yerevan/Mediamax/. 5th All-Armenian E-Content Contest will take place from November 25 to December 25 and is devoted to the 500th anniversary of Armenian book printing.

In order to participate in the contest, one should register their resources at www.econtentaward.am website before December 15. The results of the contest will be summed up on December 25.

Mediamax reports that, speaking at the joint news conference with “VivaCell-MTS” (general sponsor of the contest) General Manager Ralph Yirikian, Director of Information Technologies Foundation Garegin Chukaszyan stated that the contest, just like in previous years, will take place in 8 categories:

- E-education;
- E-healthcare;
- E-business;
- E-science;
- E-culture;
- E-entertainment;
- E-management;
- E-involvement.

Authors of best 16 works will receive monetary prizes (the total prize fund of the contest makes about USD 10 thousands), and the winners in the nominations will receive vouchers for participation in the Global Contest of E-Content.

Ralph Yirikian noted that “VivaCell-MTS” considers it important to develop e-content in Armenia.

Answering the question of Mediamax on the attitude towards another contest – Armnetawards, taking place in Armenia, Garegin Chukaszyan stated that he welcomes realization of other similar contests, since it stimulates development of the sector. At the same time, he expressed concern in connection with the fact that Armnetawards is held in the same period, when usually E-content is being realized.

“I believe that organizers should have at least demonstrated respect towards the contest, which is held for already a few years and which has helped many Armenian web-resources”, Garegin Chikaszyan stated.
