Special attention to be paid to young companies at DigiTec EXPO 2010

Yerevan/Mediamax/. DigiTec EXPO 2010, due in Yerevan on October 29-21, remains the largest technology exhibition in the region, Executive Director of the Union of IT Enterprises (UITE) Karen Vardanyan stated today.

“15 thousand people are expected to attend the exhibition”, Karen Vardanyan stated, reminding that last year the number of the visitors made about 12 thousands.

Special attention will be paid to young companies at DigiTec EXPO 2010.

“By 2018, the number of companies in Armenian IT sector is planned to reach up to 1000. Now, there are about 250 high technology enterprises functioning in the country. Each year their number increases on average by 30, and this is not a satisfactory index”, Karen Vardanyan stated.

All in all, 60 companies will participate in the exhibition.

The exhibition will be attended by the President of one of the largest world producers of network equipment – D-Link Corporation. Armenian representation of D-Link this year is the general sponsor of DigiTec EXPO.

VivaCell-MTS mobile connection operator is the “platinum” sponsor of the exhibition.
