“ArmenTel” does not consider introduction of 4G network in the nearest prospect

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Solutions to a number of regulative issues are needed for 4G network introduction in Armenia, General Director of “ArmenTel” (Beeline trademark) Igor Klimko stated in Yerevan today.

Mediamax reports that Igor Klimko specified that in order to introduce fourth generation network, the regulator should start provision of 4G frequencies to operators.

According to “ArmenTel” Head, the company does not consider introduction of 4G network in the nearest prospect and prefers to focus on improving the quality of services, which are already being provided.

Answering the question on changing the tariff policy of “ArmenTel” in conditions of new landline connection operators’ entry to the market, Igor Klimko reminded that tariffs for landline connection are defined by the Public Service Regulatory Committee (PSRC), and the company cannot change them.

Commenting on establishment of ARMIX Fund for Internet Traffic Exchange, Igor Klimko expressed regret that its founders did not invite to discussions “ArmenTel” “as a united connection operator and only informed us on the fact of setting up such a structure”.

“Nevertheless, we are open for discussions”, Igor Klimko summed up.
