“Orange made a revolution in the market of internet services in Armenia”, Head of the Company stated

Yerevan/Mediamax/. As a result of Orange’s arrival in Armenia, according to unofficial data, the number of internet users in the country doubled, Head of the Company Bruno Duthoit stated today.

Mediamax reports that, speaking at a news conference in Yerevan today following the results of the first 6 months of Orange service provision in Armenia, Bruno Duthoit stated that at present the number of active subscribers of the company makes about 250 thousands, 225 thousands of which are users of voice services, and 25 thousands – internet subscribers.

“Orange made a real revolution in the market of internet services in Armenia. We note with pride that we have the largest 3G+ network in Armenia, available for 83% of the population. We were the first to present iPhone, HTC Smartphone on the basis of Android operational system in the Armenian market, as well as many other convenient and innovative services”, Bruno Duthoit stated.

Touching upon priority directions for development this year, Bruno Duthoit stated that the company will double the transmission capacity of internet, will expand the chain of its stores up to 80 by the end of the year (from the current 43), and by the end of August it will expand 2G and 3G+ networks, making its services available for 93% of the Armenian population.

Bruno Duthoit stated that the volume of Orange’s investments in Armenia in 2010 will make $50mln (last year the volume of the operator’s investments made about $180mln).
