President of Armenia received students, who won a scholarship to study in the world’s universities

Yerevan /Mediamax/. The President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan received students, who won a scholarship of "Luys" Foundation to study in the leading foreign universities.

Mediamax was told in the Presidential press service, the President of Armenia said at the meeting that the government both declares the importance of higher education and in fact finances it. Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope that the students` example will become catching, and year after year more Armenians will begin studying in the world’s leading universities.

The President of Armenia stated that "Luys" Foundation’s work will be appreciated not only by the number of Armenian students, educated abroad, but also by their participation while solving the problems, facing with the society, one of which is educational reforms. Serzh Sargsyan stated that institutes of higher education in Armenia are to give modern education and to be competitive.

Serzh Sargsyan said that lack of professional personnel is observed in Armenia, and the government is ready to attract young qualified specialists. The President noted that the government plans to continue large-scaled reforms and to use the best students` knowledge and experience, who were educated abroad due to financial support of "Luys" Foundations and other organizations, for that.
