Yerevan /Mediamax/. The government of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has approved the concept for development of information technologies.
As the Minister of Economic Development of NKR Benik Babayan stated at the session of the parliament, the necessity to develop IT technologies is conditioned by the choice of such a form for Nagorno-Karabakh development, which would take into account the comparatively high level of scientific-educational potential of the population, the limited territory, natural resources and transport communications.
According to Benik Babayan, at present, the level of computerization in Nagorno-Karabakh makes 10%, the level of internet penetration – 8%.
Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan stressed that the main task as of today is to secure the entire NKR territory with quality connection and make it affordable for the population as soon as possible by means of the only operator in the republic.
