The most stylish IT offices: DataArt Armenia

DataArt is a global software development company that takes a unique problem-solving approach to help its customers develop their businesses in a variety of industries.

The Armenian branch of the company, DataArt Armenia, has been operating in Yerevan for 3 years and has recently opened a new office. iTel.am’s team toured in the office, took photos of the most interesting corners and now presents how the daily life of the employees goes there.

The office is designed for up to 500 employees. Places in “Open Space” were chosen by draw. The space was divided into several zones with the correspondence to the letters LUCKY TEAM, the desks were numbered, and each team or individual randomly drew the number of their place.

Due to the size of the area, the staff used a map in the early days. They are still available in the office so that newcomers do not have any difficulties.

The dividing boards stand out in the general design of the area. They depict the winning games of world-famous Armenian grandmaster Tigran Petrosyan.

The uniqueness of the design is completed by the exhibits of “DataArt IT Museum” posted on the walls.

Walking around the office area, one can come across all kinds of desks, organized or messy, decorated with plants or soft toys.

Often, the appearance of the desk can say a lot about a colleague.

During important calls and online meetings, employees can go to single office cabins, which allows them to speak freely without disturbing the silence of others. These cabins have a separate ventilation system, and it is also possible to adjust the intensity of the lighting.

There are many other areas in the office, apart from own desk, where it is convenient to work.

There are several rest zones.

Everyone can find the most comfortable corner in the DataArt office.

The office has several meeting rooms for team discussions and various meetings. The rooms have transparent walls, but they can be covered with curtains if needed.

The team thought for a long time how to name these rooms. In the end, they chose the names of Armenian favorite fruits and berries: Mulberry, Blackberry, Cherry, Apricot, Fig, Pomegranate. When going to a meeting, these names also convey a mood, well, imagine it like this. “See you at the Pomegranate in an hour.”

For larger meetings, staff gatherings or seminars, the amphitheater area is used. Guests are also received here. For the rest of the time it is a free space.

There is also a suitable solution for slightly tired employees. They can have a little nap in the room-cabins separated by a curtain.

Staff also had to think of a different name for the CEO’s and deputy CEO’s room. One of the options was to call it “above” so that the joke that “it was said from above” would be more accurate.

However, the other version was chosen, so when someone asks where Arsen or Ishkhan are, the answer sounds very simple: “In the Room”.

There is also a scooter in the office area, but it is not for touring around the area, but for going after donuts during the break.

Each floor has its own kitchen, both of which are active almost any time of the day. Most partners often invite others into the kitchen to enjoy something sweet together.

Many employees also prefer to spend their Friday evenings in the office kitchen.

If someone has ordered food that they will not eat for some reason, they can easily treat their colleagues by placing an “Eat me” sticker on it. Someone very hungry at the end of the day will definitely be grateful.

Garbage sorting containers for plastic, paper and glass are also installed in the kitchen.

For those who prefer coffee and tea along with work, there is also a coffee zone on each floor.

“Lost and found box” is very relevant here, because someone always leaves something in a corner of the office, and colleagues know where to look for it later.

Developing skills together is more fun. To learn new English words and phrases, there is Ducktionar. When one of the employees comes across a new English word or phrase, he/she writes it down and puts it in the box. After some time, they will open it and write the meanings of the words on the blackboard so that the passers-by can easily remember them.

And what office without a rest area? At DataArt, you can play table tennis, billiards, table football or Playstation.

Here they also play guitar or play chess.

There is also a gym in the area, which gets new equipment almost every day.

You may wonder whether it is convenient to go to the gym in the office. The company has taken care of this too: the office is equipped with showers.

In short, everything is done to make the staff feel at home.
