Ucom to help organize distance learning for Armenian students

Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Arayik Harutyunyan has stated today that all higher education institutions in the country have already launched distance learning classes.

According to him, the ministry will start monitoring the situation to fully understand the process soon.

“We have noticed significant excitement in schools. Some of them started remote classes even without the ministry’s encouragement. I welcome their initiative. Working together, we should overcome this difficult period and help other educational institutions to start using online tools,” said Harutyunyan.

According to him, the ministry’s web page provides information about the platforms of distance learning.

Additionally, in cooperation with the Public TV Company of Armenia, the Ministry of Education will broadcast lectures and workshops.

“Ucom is going to provide a channel for broadcasting lessons for 24 hours. The amount might be small right now, but we are recruiting teachers. We will also have a YouTube channel where we will post all materials. By the way, Ucom subscribers will not spend internet traffic on that channel,” said Harutyunyan.
