Accelerator #5 announces open call

The second volume of Accelerator #5, designed to empower women and young girls and boys living in Armenia to make the first steps in the tech world, has announced the open call.

The program includes tech and business training and helps participants to come up with their own startup projects.

Accelerator #5 (ACC #5) vol.2 is implemented by UNDP Armenia’s ImpactAIM Accelerator in cooperation with Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center (ISTC Foundation), Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), Armenian-Indian Center for Excellence in ICT (AITC), Armenia National SDG Innovation Lab and UNICEF Armenia.

The open call for applications to the 20-week accelerator kicked off on February 11, on the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The deadline for application is March 3.

The training and workshops will take place 2-3 times a week. Attendance is free of charge.

The program is for 2 age groups:

ACC#5 for Kidz is a 20 week program designed to help young girls and boys (aged 8-15) to take the first leap into programming. In the framework of ACC #5, the kids will have a chance to acquire coding, presentation and pitching skills, take a web development and scratch track, participate in hackathon and gain network.

ACC#5 for Kidz will be held in Yerevan (at Armenian-Indian Center for Excellence in ICT) and Sisian (at Sisian Education Center).

ACC#5 for Women and Girlz (15+) is a 20 week program designed for vulnerable women and girls following the purpose to teach them tech and business skills through weekly workshops/training and lead them through mentorship sessions with field experts, as well as targeted events and meetups. The training will be held at Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center.

Participants will create their own startups upon graduation and establish ties in IT industry. The best startup projects will enter ImpactAIM Accelerator Program, where through special designed curriculum and mentorship, they will be able to develop their business projects further.

The progressed students will be granted the opportunity to become a Trainer. A tailored program will be provided for selected participants to become Assistant of the Trainers of the next batch. Some students will be able to provide training in the marzes where they live.
