Lori to become Armenia’s SMART marz

Lori marz Governor Artur Nalbandyan said that their community has high hopes for development of information technologies in the region and its recognition as Armenia’s SMART marz.

The Governor made this statement at the meeting with Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, who was on a working visit to Lori.

According to the Governor, apart from the tech center, they will begin construction of Tumo Vanadzor Center, as well as launch foundation of a new SMART center.

Prime Minister also visited Vanadzor Technological Center and got acquainted with activity of web-development and engineering learning labs, and beginner companies.

The center organizes one-month courses for IT specialists, which already had two hundred participants. The center also holds classes for other target groups, such as school students (aged 10-14), and courses on computer engineering.

Prime Minister attached importance to the center’s activity and recommended offering efficient programs to new companies, and stated the government’s readiness to assist in their realization.
