1000 teens attend TUMO Stepanakert in one year

Over 1000 local teens have attended TUMO Stepanakert in one year of its work.

The center was founded through TUMOxAGBU partnership and held 22 workshops in the course of its first year, their subject ranging from animation to web development.

At 7 learning labs headed by industry professionals, the teens learned photography from photographer Pier Paolo Cito, robotics from Barcelona Josep Maria Fargas, created a website on Artsakh with Zoom Graphics’ Samvel Chobanyan and Monte Hakobjanyan, and documented their motherland with American photographer Scout Tufankjian.

The event dedicated to the first anniversary of TUMO Stepanakert will take place on September 2, NKR Independence Day.

“I’ve been asked, given the current circumstances, is this the right time to launch TUMO in Stepanakert? My answer is: now is the best time ever! These teens need every opportunity to experience normal daily lives, with great aspirations toward their own future and that of their homeland. Artsakh does not begin or end with the latest geopolitical developments. We believe it has a great future and we don't want to miss the opportunity to be part of it,” said TUMO CEO Marie Lou Papazian.

“We are proud to be part of this success. Today, when innovation and advanced technologies play a central role in Armenia’s sustainable development, our top priority is to invest in creative thinking and inspire talented young people to enter innovation-related occupations,” said AGBU Armenia President and Central Board Member Vasken Yacoubian.
