VivaCell-MTS supports holding of the 12th National Gallery Festival

The “National Gallery” International Music Festival held in the Fresco Hall of the National Gallery of Armenia since 2005 and included in the list of the State Assistance Programs of the RA Ministry of Culture starting 2008, is an awaited event for every art lover.

Every concert, organized June 18 to July 7 in the frames of the festival, which was founded by the “Gallery of Arts” Fund (President Mariam Shahinyan) with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia and in partnership with VivaCell-MTS, was a magnificent opportunity for connoisseurs of classical music to encounter with high art.

The closing concert program featured “Hover-Septet” band (artistic director and conductor: Honored Worker of Art Sona Hovhannisyan). The band was formed in 2011 from the soloists of the “Hover” State Chamber Choir. The repertoire of the band includes “Patarag” (the Armenian Holy Mass) for men’s chorus by Komitas, secular choruses, and a number of folk songs. The repertoire also includes West-European classical and modern works. The closing concert program featured works by Komitas, Sayat-Nova, Arvo Pärt, Krzysztof Penderecki, and Artur Avanesov.

“To nourish the generations spiritually is a well-chosen strategy. It shapes the inner world of the individual, makes one think beautifully and set noble goals. Can one express all human feelings – love, excitement, even anger – through music? The answer is yes. Just seven notes are enough to create a masterpiece. I believe that this year, too, the festival fulfilled its mission of celebrating the universal meaning of music,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.

The general partner of the festival is VivaCell-MTS, the leading telecommunications operator in Armenia, which has undertaken the mission of support since 2006. In the course of nine years, the company has allocated AMD 119.5 million for the organization of the annual festival.
