Hush.am launches a system that predicts life expectancy of Armenians

Hush.am platform that initiated digitalization of Armenian tombs in different parts of the world has developed a system which predicts life expectancy of Armenians.

Project founder Mihran Vardanyan told Itel.am that predictions were based on data from a large number of people.

“Currently, we offer a simplified version of the system which makes predictions based only on the last name, taking into account life expectancy of other people carrying the same name, i.e. genetic preconditions. The system contains data in multiple languages, so you should use Latin letters (e.g. Vardanyan, Sargsyan) for a more precise answer. It is also possible to calculate data for women and men separately,” explained Mihran Vardanyan.

According to the system, average life expectancy is 60 years for Armenian men, and 67 years for women.

Data on people deceased since 2000 indicates 66 years of average life expectancy for Armenian men, and 73 years for women.
