Microsoft to establish regional center in Armenia

A regional center for cloud and mobile solutions will be established in Armenia on the basis of Microsoft Innovation Center.

At the meeting today, the Armenian government approved the proposal to sign a memorandum of cooperation, license agreements and agreement on the government’s security program with Microsoft.

It is planned to cooperate in the education sector and to carry out joint programs and other initiatives aimed at the protection of intellectual property.

According to the press release disseminated by the government, the basis for this decision was seen the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia and Microsoft in New York on September 26, within the framework of Armtech Congress 2014, Armenia’s Global High Tech Industry Seventh Annual Conference. Based on it, by the decision of the Armenian PM a task force was set up on December 22, 2014, which discussed the areas and plans for further cooperation with Microsoft.

The government expects that the adoption of the decision to approve the documents to be signed with Microsoft will create prerequisites for productive cooperation with the company.
