According to the results of international study, performed by the independent “P3 Communications” German consulting firm, modern H+ network of Orange Armenia maintained its leading position not only on the Armenian telecom market, but as well amongst the European affiliates of the Orange Group.
The study, based on the use of international standards, included measurements of parameters, such as speed for file upload/download, opening of YouTube videos, opening of local and international websites etc., of 26 mobile networks in 8 European countries. All tests were conducted with commercially available smartphones and adapted professional software.
“Orange continuously performs constant improvement of its network, in order to ensure the quality of our services not only in Yerevan, but as well in regions and near-border communities. We are pleased to see that these works have their positive results and that our network continues to maintain its leading quality position for data not only in Armenia but as well compared to our sister companies in Europe. It has not been easy to achieve this result and keep the quality, as during the recent 4 years mobile internet has become a part of our daily life and traffic consumption by Orange customers has increased by 6 times. With the launch of our new unlimited mobile internet offer, we forecast that data consumption will continue to grow and we will continue to invest in order to enable our customers to use voice and internet services comfortably”, said Francis Gelibter, General Director of Orange Armenia.
The overall study was carried out in Armenia, Belgium, Luxemburg, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Spain and Slovakia. In Armenia the measurements took place from October 20 to 31, 2014 in Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, and Etchmiadzin, covering city centers, business, commercial and suburban areas.
The study is conducted by the request of Orange Group and is a part of a continuing measurement campaign, focused on the quality of selected 3G mobile data service operators in Europe.
To remind, Orange currently provides coverage to more than 98% of Armenian population allowing to use internet with the speed up to 21.6Mbps, while 86% of the country’s population has the access to internet services with up to 42.2Mbps.
