Orange Foundation has carried out community development projects in Aragatsotn region.

The delegation from France and the representatives of the Foundation have officially opened Tatul village gym and a new computer center in Nerkin Bazmaberd village.

A gym equipped with relevant tools and training machines was opened in Tatul village along with “SHEN” Charitable NGO.

“It’s my first visit to Armenia and I am happy to take part in the launch of these programs. We attach great importance to child development programs, especially in rural communities and believe that the newly-opened computer center and this gym will serve this important purpose”, said Secretary General of the Orange Foundation Brigitte Audy.

“Social or economic projects aimed at the development of rural communities in Armenia are one of the most important areas of Orange Foundation’s work. We are very happy to contribute to not only the development of the Armenian telecommunications market but to also have our input in enhancing the living conditions for Armenia’s population”, said Chairman of the Board of Orange Foundation Francis Gelibter.

The computer room in Nerkin Bazmaberd was opened in cooperation with “SHEN” Charitable NGO. It is equipped with Orange MyBox 3G router ensuring download speed of up to 21Mbps, computers, a printer and convenient furniture. The center will offer special computer classes enhancing the computer skills of Nerkin Bazmaberd residents and making Internet services more accessible.

Computer centers were also opened in Akori village in Lori region and Voskepar village in Tavush region in October. Nerkin Bazmaberd’s computer center is the 28th.

The representatives of Orange Foundation Armenia and Orange Group Foundation France also visited Hartavan village where the first “One Village” program was carried out. Within the project, the Foundation renders significant financial assistance to one village for its comprehensive development. In 2014, Orange Foundation allotted around AMD 55mln for this initiative.
