Since 2010 VivaCell-MTS has donated 1 bln 340 mln AMD to the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia.
In frames of cooperation with VivaCell-MTS, on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the Philharmonic Orchestra is organizing concerts during which mostly oratorio works are performed such as the Requiems of Mozart, Verdi, Tigran Mansurian, the “Stabat Mater” of Rossini, David Haladjian’s “Missa de Lumine”, and other works.
June 15 was marked by the joint concert of world famous young performers Sergey Khachatryan (violin) and Narek Hakhnazaryan (cello) with the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenian.
One of the projects implemented through VivaCell-MTS support is the concert and stage performances of the operas such as “Yevgeni Onegin”, “Turandot”, “Tosca”, etc. The Company also provided support with implementing Yerevan International Music Festival, and other important projects.
“It is hard to overestimate the importance of preserving the best traditions in classical music performance school. The traditions have been shaped through decades owing to the talent, love and dedication of many devotees. Globalization and the drain of qualified specialists seriously damage the Armenian culture. We need to neutralize the process to the possible extent especially in the sphere of culture, because the resources are almost irretrievable in it. The Philharmonic Orchestra is part of our national dignity and cultural identity,” stated VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.
