Half of Russians ready to change their operator after MNP introduction

A half of Russian subscribers are ready to change their mobile operator on December 1 once the law on mobile number portability (MNP) service comes into effect.

The survey held by "Romir" company says this, RBC Daily writes. These data oppose the forecasts of the operators which expect that MNP service will be used by 4-5% subscribers.

1 000 people took part in the survey and almost half of them use services of several operators. The survey shows that the most number of subscribers may stop using services of "Beeline" - 51%, 46% - MTS and "Megafon" and 41%- Tele2.

The 54% of the surveyed called the attractiveness of prices of other companies main reason for the intention to change the operator. About 1/3 (34%) of the respondents think that the competitors have better communication quality and 27% of them speak of better coverage. Each fifth (21%) wants to change the operator for additional services.

Anyways, only 7% of the surveyed stated their firm decision to change the main operator and 5% more are determined to change the secondary one. 31% of subscribers consider the option of changing the main operator and 15% - the secondary one.
