Eurocable doesn\'t comment on Ucom and Interactive TV merger

Yerevan/Mediamax/.Talking to Mediamax, Director of Eurocable Hayk Melkonyan didn\'t comment on the merger of Ucom and Interactive TV today.

A day before, the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) gave its consent so as the owners of \"Interactive TV\" JSC sold their shares to \"Ucom\" JSC which thus will become the largest operator of cable TV in Armenia having Eurocable as its only major competitor.

Over 30 companies in Armenia provide paid services of cable TV but only three largest companies broadcast a digital signal which ensures a more quality image and voice - up to HD. Interactive TV and Eurocable are classical cable operators and operate on DVB-C (Digital Video Broadcasting) standard and Ucom transmits channels on IPTV technology.

Neither of the operators provides services outside Yerevan yet.
