ArmenTel doesn’t plan to launch 4G network in the nearest future

Yerevan/Mediamax/. ArmenTel (Beeline trademark) plans to launch 4G network no sooner than next year, Company’s CEO Igor Klimko told Mediamax.

“I think 4G is still something like an image thing: there is no demand on the market, because there is no sufficiently large number of devices based on this technology yet. This is why I think 4G is not a prospect for this year for us,” said Igor Klimko.

According to him, it will be interesting for ArmenTel to see how much 4G service will be in demand at his competitor (VivaCell-MTS announced the commercial launch of 4G/LTE network in downtown Yerevan in late 2011).

In an earlier interview to iTel.am, Orange Armenia CEO Bruno Duthoit also said that the company was not planning to launch 4G network either.
