ArmenTel and Samsung Electronics awarded winners of Armenian Cyber Game Championship

General Director of ArmenTel Igor Klimko, Head of Samsung Electronics’ representative office in Armenia Andranik Shahbazyan and Chairman of National Professional Cyber Sport League of Armenia Edgar Sahakyan awarded the winners of the fifth National Open World Cyber Games (WSG) Armenia 2011 in Yerevan today.

Mediamax reports that the winners of the Championship in official game disciplines – 27-year-old Economist Edmon Grigoryan (FIFA 2010) and 24-year-old Programmer Hayk Hakobyan (StarCraft 2) received vouchers to participate in the Main Finale of WCG Tournament, which will take place in Busan town in North Korea on December 8-11, 2011.

The winners of second and third places in official nominations also gained the right for participation in the Finale. The winners of team contests and individual disciplines were presented computer equipment from Samsung.

Special prize from ArmenTel (netbook with a year’s subscription for Hi Line internet service) was awarded to the only female participant of the Armenian championship, resident of Yerevan Olga Fedorenko.

The Championship took place on June 22-26 in Yerevan “Congress” Hotel. 148 people participated in the tournament. 36 became prize winners. The prize fund of the championship made AMD 3.6mln, the prizes were provided by Samsung Company: 30 monitors, 4 notebooks, 2 netbooks.

The global sponsor of the Championship is Samsung Company, and the general sponsor of the national championship is ArmenTel.
