MTS and VimpelCom in the top 50 of world operators by the level of proceeds

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Russian MTS, VimpelCom and MegaFon companies have entered the top 50 list of largest mobile operators of the world by the volume of proceeds from mobile services during 2010. The rating is drawn by TASS-Telecom analytical group and was published on www.tasstelecom.ru website today.

MTS, VimpelCom and MegaFon occupy the 20th, 21st and 26th places correspondingly. The annual income of MTS made $11,3bln, VimpelCom- $10,5bln and MegaFon - $7,3bln.

MegaFon and VimpelCom were listed among the leaders by the income growth in 2010. The income of MegaFon during 2010 grew almost twice-  by 90,6%; VimpelCom’s income grew by 49,9%.

China Mobile operator was the absolute leader on the global mobile market in 2010. It leads not only by the number of subscribers (606 million) but also by the volume of proceeds ($74,741bln). China Mobile has also become the most lucrative ($36,8bln) and most profitable (49,3%) operator.

According to TASS-Telecom, the global level of penetration of mobile connection in 2010 made 70% . There are, on the whole, 4,973 billion mobile users in the world.
