“Skills@Work” competition for students of medium specialization educational institutions again launching in Armenia

Yerevan/Mediamax/. “ArmenTel” Company, the British Council and the Ministry of Science and Education of Armenia announced today the launch of annual “Skills@Work” competition.

Mediamax reports that according to the Director of Yerevan representative office of the British Council Arevik Saribekyan, the competition is carried out in Armenia for already the third year and in this period over 3000 students participated in it. She informed that analogous competitions are held in Great Britain and 10 countries of Eastern Europe, aiming at encouraging young people, stimulating innovation and developing entrepreneur skills of participants.

Students of medium specialization educational institutions at the age of 15-18 can participate in the competition. They should present compositions on “How to succeed with the help of internet” to the administration of their educational institutions by October 29.

According to Igor Klimko, General Director of “ArmenTel” Company, which is the exclusive sponsor of the competition, “this is the very format of corporate responsibility that we attach special importance to”. He stressed that by developing a dialogue between business and education, the company helps Armenian youth improve entrepreneur skills, and further on make them more competitive. Igor Klimko stressed that this year the program focuses on a priority sphere for Armenian economy – information technologies.

Authors of best 50 compositions may participate in the national camp of the competition of business ideas “Skills@Work”, which will take place in November in Tsakhkadzor town. The winners of the national competition will receive special prizes from “ArmenTel” and the chance to undergo practical training in the company.
