“VivaCell-MTS” suggests competing in the sphere of innovative technologies

Yerevan/Mediamax/. “VivaCell-MTS” General Manager Ralph Yirikian stated that “in the nearest future we will take the sphere of data transfer to a new level”.

Mediamax reports that Ralph Yirikian said this in an interview to “ArmNews” TV Company.

“This year we will witness 4G network (LTE/Long Term Evolution), which provides internet at a 10-15 times greater speed, as compared to 3G network”, “VivaCell-MTS” General Manager stated.

“We should not fall behind the developments of the international market. Armenia also can have the most advanced technologies. We do this, and let our competitors also introduce those technologies. We will only be glad for that, since it will benefit our economy and our people”, Ralph Yirikian stated.

He reminded that at present, VivaCell-MTS has about 850 2G base stations and over 500 3G base stations, which provide for mobile coverage of 99.8% and 92% of the populated area of Armenia respectively. 

Commenting on the suggestions, according to which mobile internet will become the priority of “VivaCell-MTS”, Ralph Yirikian stated: “Everything will be a priority for us: the voice services and the services of data transfer, sale of cell phones. All these directions are important for us and we have the necessary capacities to compete with our competitors to the benefit of the consumers”.

Speaking of “Mobile TV” service, Ralph Yirikian noted that there is demand for this service and “in future we will offer the updated new price policy”.
