Orange subscribers consume “record volumes” of internet traffic

Yerevan /Mediamax/. Orange Armenia mobile connection operator registered its 200 thousandth user yesterday.

Mediamax reports that it was Lusine Harutyunyan, student of Yerevan State Medical University, who was presented a gift by Orange Armenia General Director Bruno Duthoit today.

“I am glad to state that our family is increasing every day. Of course, this fact increases the responsibility of our team, which works hard to present more quality and convenient services to subscribers”, Bruno Duthoit stated.

He noted that the New Year offer of the company, which was in effect till January 31, caused interest among many Armenian residents and Orange sales at the end of the month increased abruptly. The number of Orange internet subscribers makes 13 thousands as of today.

Bruno Duthoit admitted that 1/3 part of Orange internet subscribers experienced inconveniences some time ago, conditioned by “record volumes of the consumed traffic”. Head of the company informed that in mid-January the company doubled the transmission capacity of the network, and in certain towns of the republic the works still continue.

Speaking about the competition situation in the market, Bruno Duthoit stated that each of the companies tries to maintain its positions. “The developments of the past two months in the Armenian telecommunication market are legal, natural and logical”, General Director of Orange Armenia stated.
