By the end of the year Microsoft will open an Innovation Center in Armenia

Yerevan /Mediamax/. By the end of the year Microsoft will open an Innovation Center in Armenia.

As the Head of Microsoft Representative Office in Armenia Grigor Barseghyan stated today, the budget of the center, which will make no less than $1.5mln, and a three-year development program, have already been approved. He noted that at present talks are in process on cooperation with the government and higher educational institutions of Armenia, Intel, Hewlet Packard and Cisco Companies.

According to Grigor Barseghyan, the main goal of the Center will be to assist IT industry development in Armenia, train local specialists and attract the students to IT sphere. The practice of the Innovation Center in Croatia, which is considered one of the most successful Microsoft projects in Europe, is actively used in elaborating the business plan.

Grigor Barseghyan also informed that on March 24-26, Armenian teachers participated in “European Innovative Teachers Forum” (ITF) in Vienna, within the framework of Microsoft “Partners in Education Sphere” program. In October, analogous competition forum will take place in Armenia. All interested teachers will be able to participate in the forum.
