Nikol Pashinyan receives the MTS delegation

Armenian Prime Minister received MTS Group President Alexey Kornya and Vice President Andrei Smelkov on April 2. The meeting was also attended by General Manager of VivaCell-MTS, Ralph Yirikian.

Pashinyan attached importance to the programs MTS implements in Armenia, which facilitate the development of telecommunications and prevalence of innovative technologies. He noted that the Armenian government considered development of digital infrastructure and the IT market a priority, aiming to make Armenia a technological country.

The Prime Minister added that the government also planned to make the investment environment more transparent and introduce a new culture of the business-government cooperation.

Alexey Kornya thanked Pashinyan for sharing information about the government’s reforms and expressed his appreciation for the progress of the ongoing MTS programs in Armenia and the cooperation with Armenian authorities, in particular, the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies. He revealed that given the advantages of Armenia’s IT market, MTS planned to expand the activity in the country and realize new programs in the fields of digital market as well we software installation and maintenance. Alexey Kornya also noted that MTS Group would continue investing in Armenia to advance the IT and telecommunications sector.

Nikol Pashinyan welcomed the company’s intention to increase investments and reiterated the government’s commitment to continue productive cooperation.

The parties exchanged thoughts on development of the telecommunications sector, improvement of technological infrastructure, corporate responsibility and the prospects of programs in these areas.
